The game begins with the architectural drawings of the castle that is to be constructed by the end of the game. Players must strategically choose from their character cards to gather the right resources and money to construct the building necessary for the castle's completion - such as stables for the horses, homes for the servants, a market for the tradesmen, etc. As the castle's parts are built, helpers are added to the board to increase players' chances - making it vital to build faster than your competitors, but strategically as well, since you need to balance building with collecting money and resources. The player to produce the most victory points in the end deserves the protection of the castle and wins the game.
